COVID - 19.

 As per Government guidelines, we are pleased to say we are reopening on the 4th July 2020. 

In order to protect all our guests some things will change a little, we will ask all guests to use hand sanitiser on arrival and to use face coverings in communal areas when there are other guests present.

The guidance also states we have to maintain a record of all guests for 21 days, we will keep this information as simple as possible but appreciate guests cooperation with this

We offer modern en suite accommodation on the edge of the Lake District, the three rooms available are within a  self contained area of our new built, modern home. Each room  is decorated to a high standard. The use of  a fully equipped kitchen allows guests the choice of self catering  or eating out, whilst they explore the area.

We always greet our guests personally and show you around the accommodation to make sure you have everything you need to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. We are on hand throughout your stay, so if you have any queries, we can help.

The house was completed in 2018 and has been built to minimise environmental impact, features include air source heat pump and solar thermal panels, to provide renewable underfloor heating and hot water; and a rainwater harvesting system is in place to reduce reliance on  mains water.  LED lighting is used throughout. The house is also built with a high level of  insulation. These features combine to drastically reduce the properties carbon footprint. 

Guests also benefit from additional safety features including fire doors and  there is no carbon monoxide risk. 



Each room is decorated tastefully to meet the needs of the modern guest, ideal for those visiting the area for business or pleasure.  The rooms benefit from en-suite bath or shower room, other amenities include free high speed Wi-Fi , Amazon fire TV, DAB radio, hairdryers and  a kettle, tea and coffee; toiletries are also provided.

The whole of the property is non smoking, including the garden and the carpark.



We provide you with complimentary produce to enable you to prepare your own breakfast  including cereals, bread,  milk, jam, spread, juice; and somedays fresh eggs are provided - as long as the neighbours hens are laying!
Free Wifi
Available throughout, password is given at check in. If you have any documents that need printed or need some  paper we can provide that too.
Drying Room
Our drying room is perfect to use to dry out your outdoor equipment after a day in the lakes or up the fells, ready to continue your adventures the following day.
Views and Local Walks
There is a lovely sea view from the house, across the garden and the fields beyond, on a clear day the Isle of Man can be glimpsed on the horizon.
We  have some maps available of walks which start from the property, which include the beach, quiet paths and around the village.
Towels are provided for the duration of your stay and are refreshed as required. Guests are requested to let us know if there are any breakages, so damage can be rectified as soon as possible. Additional bedding can be provided if required including pillows and thicker / thinner quilts.
Shared between the rooms is a fully equipped kitchen including fridge, microwave, oven, hob and toaster. Crockery, cutlery, utensils and cookware is also provided.  Guests are requested to keep the kitchen tidy and clear away dishes.
Secure Storage
We have secure bike storage on site which is available for you to use free of charge. 

The bed was huge and very comfortable! The whole house was beautiful and modern. All the facilities were covered and the owners were so welcoming and friendly.



Climbing and Walking
For those wanting to explore the lakes and fells for there are lots of options. Whether it's a gentle stroll or a more strenuous climb up England's highest peak - Scafell Pike. It's all on the doorstep. We can drop off guests at various places and pick them up further en-route or back where they started at the end of the day.

This is the closest town, and has a large harbourside, shops and supermarkets and is steeped in Georgian history.


Places to Eat
Many of the local restaurants will be starting to reopen on the 4th July following closure due to Covid -19, and some have already opened as take aways. There are also a variety of take aways in Egremont some of which deliver to our property.
Coast to Coast and Hadrian's Cycleway
We are within a stones throw of the different start points of the Coast to Coast cycleway and path. St Bees, Seascale and Whitehaven are all close by. We can pick up cyclists and walkers from local train stations and drop them any any points within the area.  Early morning drop offs are  available, and we can provide pack lunches to sustain you on your way.
Castle and Train
Within a short drive there are two great attractions. Muncaster Castle and Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Please check web sites for plans for revised opening .
Wild Swimming
If you enjoy open water swimming, we are perfectly located to explore all that the Lake District has to offer. We have a drying room that you are welcome to use to dry your wetsuits, walking boots and other outdoor equipment ready to continue your adventures the following day. 
Working in the area
If you find yourself in the lucky position to be working for some time in the area, we can offer accommodation to meet your needs, short or long term - rates can be negotiated. We are handy for Sellafield, West Lakes Academy, Westlakes Science Park and Energus.
